Ski Mera Peak Nepal and learn all about what it takes to climb and ski a true Himalayan giant.

In 2011, American Mark Horoszowski completed a remarkable journey around the world. Part of his journey included a climb and Ski Mera Peak Nepal adventure with Australians Peter, Scott, Phil, Neil and the Trek Climb Ski Nepal Sherpa team.  Not widely known is that Mark did in fact complete an incredible ski descent of 6476m Mera Peak. Mera Peak is located to the south of Mt Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. From the summit of Mera Peak you can clearly see Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kanchenjunga. It is quite possibly the best Himalayan panorama you can ever witness.

On the back of this, Trek Climb Ski Nepal founder and director Nick Farr decided he didn’t want to miss out. Nick joined the TCSN Sherpa team and skied Mera Peak in both 2013 and 2015. A few refinements to our itinerary later, and a Ski Mera Peak Nepal expedition now only takes 18 days. This includes 2 days at the start in Kathmandu and one day at the end in Kathmandu. We also include a charter helicopter transfer from Tangang all the way back to Kathmandu the day after the ski descent.

Can I ski Mera Peak Nepal?

Contact Trek Climb Ski Nepal if skiing from the summit of a Himalayan giant appeals to you. This is a very achievable undertaking for strong skiers and snowboarders. The climb involved is never technical or steep but the altitude is what makes this a challenging undertaking. The skiing involved is no more difficult than a blue (intermediate) run, but again, the thin air and altitude makes it harder than anything you’ll have experienced “in resort”.

We have some awesome Mera Peak videos on our YouTube channel. The one we’ve featured below is a must watch.
