News just in and we can report more Island Peak climb success! Our Everest Base Camp and Island Peak expedition have reported that they have enjoyed a successful trek to Everest Base Camp and then a challenging  climb of Island Peak (6189m). Well done to Tui, Peter, Kirsten, Tika and Dor on a great result. No photos as yet but I’ll post some images through as soon as the team send me some. Our Island Peak climb success is the result of a great team effort by everyone and a huge congratulations to Tika and Dor for their great work high on the mountain.

Climbing Island Peak is a fantastic introduction to mountaineering in Nepal. Our experienced Sherpa team (most of whom have multiple Everest summits to their credit) will teach you all the skills necessary to climb the mountain safely and successfully. We recommend our Island Peak and Mera Peak expeditions as the best introductory mountaineering experiences available in Nepal. Island Peak is a great option for people who also want to trek to Everest Base Camp.

This clip shows the final push to the summit of Island Peak from one of our recent Everest Base Camp and Island Peak expeditions. The excitement is palpable as the group takes those final few steps along the ridge to the summit. The views stretch all the way back down the valley past Ama Dablam to Lobuche and beyond. As you step onto the summit of Island Peak, it’s impossible not to be humbled by the majesty and grandness of Lhotse (4th highest mountain in the world) directly in front of you.
