Ski Nepal with the experts

When we began pioneering our Nepal ski expeditions, we didn’t quite know what to expect. We’re pretty sure we were the first to ski Chulu West (6419m) in the Annapurna region in 2006. Two years later we took our skis to Parchamo and enjoyed some challenging conditions. We’ve even had a ski on the 6th highest mountain in the world – Cho Oyu at 8201m. But after countless expeditions to 6476m Mera Peak, this is the Himalayan giant we had to choose as our marque ski Nepal offering.

Best time to Ski Nepal

We operate our ski Mera Peak expeditions in April (Nepal spring) and October (Nepal autumn). Whilst the weather during both of these seasons is generally stable, our pick is October for a couple of reasons. Firstly, there’s a lot more snow on the ground post-monsoon than pre-monsoon. This translates to more reliable skiing conditions and less crevasses. Less crevasses is always good! The weather is getting cooler as winter approaches which equals crisp clear days high up. If you’re going to ski Nepal, you might as well do it when conditions are likely to be best.
