Apologies for this late review but better late than never 😜 I took part in the Everest Circuit Trek in Oct 2019, headed by Tika Tamang. Let me start there... Tika is the most knowledgeable, caring, supportive guide we could ever have had. His experience, which he is so humble about, was instrumental in our trek. I felt safe and very prepared after our conversations every morning and night. Tika was extremely vigilant in regards to our diets and overall health and ensured our safety every step of the trek. He is without a doubt, the best guide we could ever have hoped for. Tika’s support crew were also amazing. A special Thankyou to Biru, who did Kala Patthar with me at 3.30am, for me to fulfil that goal and watch the sunrise over Mt Everest. Amazing.
The circuit trek itself was nothing short of spectacular, the highlights being Namche Bazar (just such a great atmosphere), summitting Gokyo Ri 4790m (even though I thought it was the hardest day) and it’s beautiful lakes, walking through Cho La Pass (getting up to 5000m), reaching Base Camp 5364m, then Kala Patthar 5550m. The views of some of the tallest, most dangerous but most amazing mountains in the world were truly breathtaking. The Nepalese people we met along the way made this trek even more memorable. Not to be forgotten, are the great friendships you make with those in your team and people from around the world, along the way and in tea houses. Overall, the preparation and advice provided by TrekClimbSki, especially Nick, made this trip, a trip of a lifetime. The extra touches, such as the tour of Kathmandu, provision of packs, sleeping bags & down jackets but specifically, our 2 night stay in Tika’s home, where we got to meet and live with his beautiful family, who really looked after us, made this trip even more special. I couldn’t recommend TrekClimbSki highly enough. If you want a trip that is professionally operated, ethically responsible to the Nepalese people and culture and that has your safety and happiness forefront, then I suggest travelling with TrekClimbSki. I will be back. Thankyou Nick & Tika for my trip of a lifetime 👏🏻
