What a fantastic result! For Gyan, Yam, Peter, Suzanne, Laurie, David and Darren, their Everest Circuit success is almost official. The team arrived back in Khumjung yesterday and from here they can almost see the finish line. Well they’d be able to see it if there weren’t all those mountains and trees in the way!

An update of our team’s progress on our Follow us Live page provides a fantastic snapshot of their journey to date. All of us at Trek Climb Ski Nepal thank Peter and the team again for their great work with our satellite tracker. Visit our follow us live page and view the interactive Google Map. As you zoom in on the many “check-in locations” mapped by our crew, you can see clearly the Sherpa villages and landmarks they’ve visited along the way. Not to mention the many spectacular Himalayan mountains that have surrounded them each day of their trip.

Everest Circuit success and our live GPS tracking

A copy of our team’s most recent Follow Us Live map is reproduced below. The GPS tracking of our treks doesn’t guarantee that they’ll be successful, but it sure is sweet to follow the pinpoints as they continue from start to finish.

Given the great weather they’ve experienced, our team is ahead of schedule. We always factor in a couple of contingency days to allow for poor weather, illness and flight delays but fortunately this trip hasn’t needed to call on any of them. Today the crew will trek all the way back to Lukla or will maybe elect to have a final night on the trail in Namche Bazaar or Phakding. They will then enjoy a final night celebration of their Everest Circuit success at Namaste Lodge in Lukla before flying back to Kathmandu. Our final night parties at Lukla have become the stuff of legend so we’ll be sure to make that the subject of another post.
