What our guests are saying

Reputation is everything when it comes to taking care of you in the mountains. Achieving your goal is one thing, but doing it safely and in style is how we roll. Here’s what some of our guests said about their Everest Base Camp Trek with us.

“Just participated in the Resilence for Teens Everest Base Camp Trek and all 26 participants made it inspired, healthy and connected to Base Camp! Couldn’t recommend this company more – from the porters to the inspiring Sherpa guides to Nick, David and Tika – this was a world-class life-changing trip!”

Everest Base Camp Trek – September 2017

“What an awesome experience trekking to Everest Base Camp with Trek Climb Ski Nepal. Nothing left to chance, no shortcuts, just an extremely well organised and life-changing adventure. Thank you Nick, Tika and Gyan”

Daniel Doncaster
Everest Base Camp Trek – September 2016

“Our Trekking staff were brilliant. The well-established relationships they had with all the Tea House owners enhanced the meals and accommodation experience. Our guide quickly ascertained the pace which suited us so that we may have been tired at the end of the day but never exhausted. I would highly recommend Trek Climb Ski Nepal to anybody contemplating trekking in the Himalayas, particularly the Everest Base Camp trek. If like myself you haven’t ever trekked before, these are the guys for you.”
Rowan Mitchell

Everest Base Camp Trek – May 2016

“Thank you so much to the team at Trek Climb Ski Nepal – both local and international. I had an amazing experience of a lifetime! Everyone says its a ‘bucket list’ trip but I say it’s just the beginning. See you guys again soon for the next adventure!”

Nick Teo
Everest Base Camp Trek (and Island Peak) – October 2013

“It was such a fantastic journey. The entire trip was well planned, from the moment of arrival in Kathmandu. Food and accommodation
was very good along the way. Everyone in the Trek Climb Ski Nepal team went the extra mile to accommodate my needs during the trip so I was able to enjoy the journey. From the early start and late finish of sightseeing in Kathmandu as I requested for my photography interests, to the helping hand carrying my entire backpack when I struggled with the altitude. It was all this support that helped make this unforgettable journey come true. Thank you!”
Chen Xu
Everest Base Camp Trek – November 2012

“There are cheaper treks in that area but I really liked that I had the contact person here in Australia, loved the allowance in the itinerary for the extra days, the crew were beyond fabulous, camping was actually fun and I adored every minute of the trip, so complete value for money for me.”
Tui Anderson
Everest Base Camp Trek (and Island Peak) – October 2011

“The personal service provided right from my first contact with Nick, to Gyan ensuring my bags got to the right place at Kathmandu airport for my departure, is what makes Trek Climb Ski Nepal stand out. The combined experience, knowledge, passion and professionalism of your team made a trip to an unknown country – as a single female traveller – relaxed, enjoyable & memorable. This was for me the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and with your help, I have many special memories that will last a lifetime.”

Your Itinerary

everest base camp trekDay 1
Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport and be transferred by our staff to your hotel accommodation in Kathmandu. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and drinks hosted by your Sherpa leaders and guides. Overnight in Kathmandu (1340m).

Day 2
Breakfast at your hotel is followed by a morning sightseeing tour around Kathmandu. Afternoon at leisure. Our staff will be available in the afternoon to assist any guests that may need to make last-minute purchases. Overnight in Kathmandu (1340m).

Day 3
Our staff will meet you very early this morning and you’ll travel by private vehicle to Ramechhap airport (approximately 5 hours). Any luggage or personal possessions you won’t need during your Everest Base Camp Trek will be able to be stored (free of charge) at your hotel. They will be waiting for you when you return. From Ramechhap you’ll enjoy an incredible mountain flight to Lukla. Here your Everest Base Camp Trek truly begins! You’ll enjoy a hearty Sherpa breakfast at Namaste Lodge then commence your trek to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding (2600m).

Day 4
Today is a longer day on the trail as we start early for Namche Bazaar. After crossing the final suspension bridge above the Dudh Kosi (river), we begin up the famous Namche hill. If the weather is clear you’ll get to enjoy some brief views of Mt Everest en route. It’s a solid “up” to Namche but the rewards are great. Here we’ll spend 2 nights at the Namche Hotel which is home to the finest food, hot showers and hospitality in the Khumbu. Our hosts Ang Maya and Dorje Sherpa have been looking after us for years and our time at the Namche Hotel is a real highlight. Overnight in Namche Bazaar (3440m).

Day 5
Today is an important acclimatisation day for us in and around Namche Bazaar given we’ve now crossed the 3000m mark. We’ll set off for an early morning walk up to the Everest View Hotel for stunning traditional views of Mt Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. An hour or so here at 3800m will really help us with our acclimatisation to come. We’ll also visit the Namche Bazaar Monastery and receive a blessing from the buddhist Lama. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the local markets, bakeries and shops in Namche which is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Overnight in Namche Bazaar (3440m).

Day 6
Today we leave Namche Bazaar and we trek to Deboche via Thyangboche. We’ll explore the famous Thyangboche Monastery (and the famous Thyangboche bakery!) en route to Deboche. Overnight in Deboche (3710m).

Days 7 & 8
Slowly ascend further up valley to Dingboche (4410m). Dingboche sits at the base of Ama Dablam and from here you’ll take in stunning views of Lhotse and Island Peak. You’ll enjoy a well-earned rest and acclimatisation day in Dingboche.

Day 9
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m). Overnight in Lobuche, right next to the magnificent Khumbu Glacier – the world’s highest glacier. Lobuche is our second last overnight stop before reaching Everest Base Camp.

Day 10
From Lobuche we trek alongside the incredible Khumbu glacier as we make our way to Gorak Shep (5140m). We arrive in Gorak Shep and enjoy an early lunch. After lunch we set-off for Everest Base Camp. At a nice casual pace, the trip takes around 3 hours so you’ll have plenty of time for photos along the way. You’ll marvel at the stunning (and deadly) Khumbu Icefall and feel an overwhelming sense of achievement having reached Everest Base Camp. After the obligatory high-fives, we’ll trek back to Gorak Shep for a big dinner and a final night above 5000m. Overnight in Gorak Shep (5140m).

Day 11
An early start is planned for those keen to ascend Kala Pattar (5550m). Setting off at around 4.30 am will see us reach the top in time to witness a magnificent sunrise over Mt Everest and Nuptse. This is a true highlight of this journey and weather permitting is not to be missed. We then head back down to Gorak Shep for breakfast before setting off for Lobuche. Lunch today will be at Lobuche and then we’ll continue the easy trek down valley to Pheriche (4370m). Pheriche has become a vibrant Sherpa community and you’ll find plenty of interesting shops to keep you busy. Overnight at Pheriche (4370m).

Day 12
From Pheriche, we enjoy another cruisy downhill trekking day to Deboche. Deboche is located in the midst of a beautiful rhododendron forest and our overnight accommodation is again at the lovely Rivendell Lodge.

Day 13
From Deboche we continue back through Tengboche and follow the trail down to the valley floor. We then weave our way back up and take a short break at Sanasa. From Sanasa we continue on to Namche Bazaar and are excited to be having another night at the Namche Hotel. Overnight at Namche Bazaar (3440m).

Day 14
Today is a fantastic downhill day and an early start gets us out before the yak trains start kicking up the dust. With our acclimatised bodies we power on down the Namche Hill and motor alongside the Dudh Kosi river. We notice all the fresh and clean people passing us preparing to head up the Namche Hill and beyond. It feels like only yesterday that that was us. It’s a great day to cruise and the magnitude of our achievement over the past two weeks is beginning to resonate. We enjoy a final day walking with our Sherpa guides and porters that have become our friends. At Lukla, we enjoy a great celebration to the end of our trip with all our guides and porters. We stay at Namaste Lodge and our hosts – Kami Sherpa and his family – will have the food, drinks and music flowing all night. Our final night parties at Namaste Lodge have become the stuff of legend! Overnight at Lukla (2800m).

Day 15
Fly from Lukla to Ramechhap and then return to Kathmandu by private vehicle. Give the hot showers a solid workout and enjoy a great final day and evening in Nepal. Overnight in Kathmandu (1340m).

Day 16
Trip concludes and all guests will be conveyed to Kathmandu International Airport to meet their respective international flights.

Accommodation & Meals

everest base camp trek

Namche Bazaar in the Everest region

Our Everest Base Camp Trek includes 3 nights at The Radisson Hotel (or equivalent standard) with breakfasts included. Trek Climb Ski Nepal also provide a complimentary welcome dinner with drinks in Kathmandu on the first evening of your trip. While trekking in the mountains, you will stay in lodges along the route.

This trip includes 13 breakfasts, 12 lunches and 12 dinners while you are on trek in the mountains. Morning and afternoon tea is also provided each day you are trekking. Unlimited safe (thoroughly boiled) drinking water is also provided each day you are in the mountains.

Meals in the Everest region of Nepal are not cheap. If you were to purchase your own meals from the lodges we stay at on this trek, your total food cost would be more than AUD $1,100.

We proudly employ an all you can eat food and fluids policy on all our trips. Proper food intake and regular hydration are critical to safe altitude acclimatisation. In our opinion, trekking companies that leave food decisions and the purchase of food for their clients to manage (when trekking at altitude) are grossly irresponsible. Trekking companies often do this because it enables them to advertise a much lower (but unrealistic) trip price. Be sure to choose a tour operator that includes all your meals and safe drinking water in your trip price.
