Overview

Mera Peak

We cross the Zatra La Pass into the remote Hinku Valley, trekking through lush forests, traditional Sherpa villages and along glacial valleys with Mera Peak dominating the skyline. From Tangnag and Khare, we climb onto the ice, rope up to cross crevasses, and make our way to high camp at 5800m. Then, under a sky full of stars, we begin our torchlit summit push.

At dawn, the horizon explodes with the sight of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kanchenjunga – collectively, five of the six highest mountains in the world. This is surely the finest panorama in the Himalaya from any 6000m summit.

After your triumphant descent, there’s no need to retrace your steps for days on end. Instead, step into a helicopter for a breathtaking flight from the remote mountain village of Kote, soaring past deep valleys and towering peaks before touching down in Kathmandu the very same day. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, achievement and pure Himalayan luxury.

Day 2

After a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel, we set off on a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s cultural highlights. We begin at Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu site, where sadhus, pilgrims and rituals line the banks of the Bagmati River.

Next is the serene Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. Surrounded by prayer flags and spinning wheels, it’s a peaceful contrast to the bustle of the city.

We finish at Durbar Square, the historic heart of Kathmandu, home to centuries-old temples, courtyards and royal palaces.

After the tour, the afternoon is at leisure, with our team available to assist anyone needing last-minute gear or supplies. The evening is free to relax, explore or enjoy one of the city’s many great restaurants.
