We’re always looking for new destinations to offer our clients so are excited to announce the addition of The Upper Mustang trek to our listed destinations. The Upper Mustang trek is a 17-day itinerary and launches in May 2014. We’re hoping to be running this trek each month. Unlike many trekking itineraries in Nepal, our Upper Mustang Trek can be run through the summer months.
This exciting new destination, The Upper Mustang region, is one of the most famous buddhist kingdoms in the world. It lies to the north of the Annapurna Conservation Area and at the top of the Kali Gandaki River. The Mustang region consists of the upper and the lower areas. The culture and language of the Upper Mustang people is similar to Tibet and this region has a mystical and isolated feel to it that inspires and enhances the visitor experience. This region offers a unique and dramatic geography for the Nepal trekker familiar with the forested green landscapes found further south in the Annapurna Conservation Area.
