Overview

Mt Kailash Trek (Tibet)

This spiritual journey takes you deep into Tibet’s mystical landscapes, blending ancient pilgrimage traditions with breathtaking Himalayan scenery.

Your Mt Kailash trek begins in Kathmandu, where visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites like Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple set the spiritual tone while your permits and gear are prepared. From here, you travel north through dramatic Himalayan terrain, crossing into Tibet at Rasuwagadhi and continuing via Kyirong toward the sacred Lake Manasarovar.

Revered by Hindus and Buddhists, Lake Manasarovar offers space for meditation and ritual before you reach Darchen, the starting point of your Kora around Mt Kailash. This three-day pilgrimage circuit, believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual merit, takes you across high passes including Dolma La (5,630m), past sacred sites such as Gauri Kund, and through Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk monasteries—all with unforgettable views of Mt Kailash’s north face.

After completing the Kora, you retrace your route through Saga and Kyirong, returning to Kathmandu with the memories of a profound spiritual and physical achievement.

Day 2

After a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel, we set off on a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s cultural highlights. We begin at Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu site, where sadhus, pilgrims and rituals line the banks of the Bagmati River.

Next is the serene Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. Surrounded by prayer flags and spinning wheels, it’s a peaceful contrast to the bustle of the city.

We finish at Durbar Square, the historic heart of Kathmandu, home to centuries-old temples, courtyards and royal palaces.

After the tour, the afternoon is at leisure, with our team available to assist anyone needing last-minute gear or supplies. The evening is free to relax, explore or enjoy one of the city’s many great restaurants.
