Overview

Annapurna Trek & Chitwan Safari

Your journey begins in the bustling capital of Kathmandu, where two full days are set aside to soak up the cultural and spiritual essence of the Kathmandu Valley. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the intricately carved courtyards of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the massive white dome of Boudhanath Stupa, and the sacred temple complex of Pashupatinath — timeless landmarks that offer a deep introduction to Nepal’s rich heritage.

Leaving the cultural heart of the valley behind, your route descends into the subtropical plains of the Terai to explore Chitwan National Park — Nepal’s first and most renowned wildlife sanctuary. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chitwan is a haven for biodiversity, home to one-horned rhinos, sloth bears, wild elephants, gharials, and the elusive Bengal tiger. Over three immersive days, experience the best of Nepal jungle safari life: drift down the Rapti River in a dugout canoe, venture deep into the jungle on jeep safaris and nature walks, and rise early for birdwatching in one of Asia’s most vibrant ecosystems. You’ll also connect with the local Tharu community, learning about their ancient traditions and harmonious way of life alongside the jungle.

From the lowlands, your journey ascends to the Himalayan foothills. After arriving in Pokhara – a tranquil lakeside city with sweeping views of the Annapurna range – you’ll set out on a five-day trek through the heart of the Annapurna region. Beginning in Ulleri, the trail winds through lush rhododendron forests, stone-paved paths, and picturesque villages inhabited by the Gurung and Magar communities.

The highlight of this trek in the Annapurna region is the early morning ascent to Poon Hill (3,210m) — one of the most celebrated viewpoints in the Himalayas. Here, you’ll witness an unforgettable sunrise as the peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Nilgiri ignite in golden hues against the dawn sky. It’s a moment that captures the magic and majesty of the Himalayas in full.

As you descend toward Ghandruk, one of the most culturally rich Gurung villages in the region, you’ll enjoy sweeping views, warm hospitality, and the peaceful rhythm of mountain life. After your trek, return to Pokhara for a day of well-earned rest — whether boating on Phewa Lake, visiting the Peace Pagoda, or simply enjoying the lakeside cafés with mountain views.

More than just a holiday, our Annapurna Trek Chitwan Safari double offers an immersive experience of Nepal’s remarkable diversity – from the steamy jungles of Chitwan National Park to the panoramic heights of Poon Hill, framed by deep cultural encounters and natural beauty at every step. Ideal for active travellers, nature lovers, and cultural explorers, this itinerary is a perfectly balanced Himalayan adventure.

Day 2

After a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel, we set off on a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s cultural highlights. We begin at Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu site, where sadhus, pilgrims and rituals line the banks of the Bagmati River.

Next is the serene Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. Surrounded by prayer flags and spinning wheels, it’s a peaceful contrast to the bustle of the city.

We finish at Durbar Square, the historic heart of Kathmandu, home to centuries-old temples, courtyards and royal palaces.

After the tour, the afternoon is at leisure, with our team available to assist anyone needing last-minute gear or supplies. The evening is free to relax, explore or enjoy one of the city’s many great restaurants.
