Combining the iconic Everest Base Camp Trek with an exhilarating summit of Island Peak, this expedition delivers the ultimate Himalayan adventure.
Island Peak
Overview
Island Peak Climb โ The Perfect Himalayan Challenge
Our Island Peak expedition combines the classic Everest Base Camp trek with the exhilaration of summiting one of Nepalโs most achievable 6,000-metre peaks. Standing at 6,189 metres, Island Peak is the ideal next step for trekkers ready to take their Himalayan adventure to a higher level.
The first ten days of our journey follow the same route as our renowned Everest Base Camp Trek. Along the way, we take in all the highlights โ from Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery to the unforgettable views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Everest itself. After reaching Base Camp and Kala Pattar, we return to Dingboche well-acclimatised and ready to focus on the climb ahead.
From Dingboche, we trek to Chhukhung where our guides lead a practical mountaineering session. Here, youโll learn and practise the techniques needed for Island Peak โ ascending fixed ropes, abseiling, and using crampons and harnesses safely.
Island Peak Climb
After a night at Base Camp, we move up to High Camp and make final preparations for our summit push. The climb begins around 3:00 a.m., reaching the summit approximately six to seven hours later. Standing on top of Island Peak is an incredible moment, with breathtaking views across the Khumbu and towards the towering faces of Lhotse and Makalu. We celebrate briefly on the summit before beginning our descent to Base Camp – and, if energy permits, continuing on to Chhukhung.
Island Peak with Trek Climb Ski Nepal
Our Island Peak itinerary includes well-planned rest days to ensure proper acclimatisation and maximise your safety. This is a challenging, high-altitude expedition that combines trekking with an introductory mountaineering experience. Itโs designed for fit, determined adventurers and no previous climbing experience is necessary
If youโve already trekked to Everest Base Camp and are looking for your next challenge, or simply want to experience the thrill of climbing a Himalayan peak under the expert guidance of our Sherpa team, this expedition is for you.

โI can honestly say that it was a life changing experience!โ
Island Peak – September 2018
โMy second trip with Trek Climb Ski Nepal and again it exceeded all expectations. The increasing challenge on this trip pushed me again to where I personally wanted to go, which is beyond what I think I’m capable of.โ
