Everest Base Camp Trek
Follow in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on our unforgettable Everest Base Camp Trek – a journey that blends adventure, culture, and history in the heart of the Himalaya.
Overview
Everest Base Camp Trek
Your adventure begins in Kathmandu, where you’ll explore the cultural treasures of Nepal’s vibrant capital before boarding a breathtaking mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu. From the moment you take off, the sight of endless snow-capped peaks sets the tone for what lies ahead.
Trekking through the Heart of the Khumbu
From Lukla, the trail leads you through traditional Sherpa villages and across suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River. Each day brings fresh scenery and a deeper understanding of Sherpa life. The route climbs steadily through pine forests and mountain valleys towards the Himalaya’s most iconic peaks. Along the way, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and the views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Everest are constant highlights.
Reaching Everest Base Camp
Reaching Everest Base Camp is the real pinnacle of this adventure. Standing at the base of the Khumbu Icefall, you’ll see the starting point for many Everest expeditions. This is where the challenge and reward of the Everest Base Camp Trek truly come together. The experience offers a sense of achievement that few treks in the world can equal.
The next morning, a pre-dawn climb to Kala Pattar provides the best panoramic view of Everest and its neighbouring peaks. As the first light touches the summit, the mountain range glows in clear Himalayan light. From here, the cruisy descent to Pheriche offers a gentle change in pace and perspective. It’s the perfect conclusion to the Everest Base Camp Trek – a journey that blends adventure, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.

Why Every Everest Base Camp Trek We We Run Is Successful
More than 2000 clients since 2006 and EVERY trip we’ve led to Everest Base Camp has been successful.

Day 3
To Lukla and Phakding
Our team will meet you very early this morning, and together we’ll travel by private vehicle to Ramechhap Airport – a scenic journey of approximately five hours through Nepal’s beautiful countryside. Before departing, any luggage or personal belongings you won’t need during your Everest Base Camp Trek can be safely stored at your Kathmandu hotel free of charge. This ensures you’ll travel light, and everything will be waiting for you when you return.
From Ramechhap, you’ll board an incredible mountain flight to Lukla (2,800m), often described as one of the most memorable flights in the world. As the plane weaves between towering peaks, you’ll catch your first glimpses of the mighty Himalaya and the adventure ahead. Upon landing in Lukla, your Everest Base Camp Trek officially begins!
Following your arrival, you’ll enjoy a hearty Sherpa breakfast at Namaste Lodge, a local favourite known for its warm hospitality. Once refuelled, we begin our first trek of the journey – a gentle walk through alpine forest and traditional Sherpa villages on the way to Phakding.

Day 4
Namche Bazaar
Today is one of the longer days on the trail, so we start early for Namche Bazaar. After a gentle walk through pine forests, we cross the final suspension bridge high above the Dudh Kosi River. From there, the real climb begins as we make our way up the famous Namche Hill — a steady ascent that rewards persistence and patience. If the weather is clear, this is also where you’ll catch your very first glimpse of Mt Everest, a moment that never fails to inspire excitement among trekkers.
Although the uphill journey to Namche is challenging, the rewards are well worth the effort. The trail winds through spectacular scenery, and each turn brings new views that make the climb unforgettable. On arrival in Namche, we settle into the Namche Hotel, where we’ll spend two nights. This is often one of the most memorable stops on all Everest Base Camp Treks, offering the perfect mix of comfort and Sherpa hospitality.
Our hosts, Ang Maya and Dorje Sherpa, have been welcoming us for many years, and their warmth and generosity make every stay special. Between the delicious food, the endless hot showers, and the cosy mountain atmosphere, it’s the ideal place to rest, recover, and soak up the unique charm of Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5
NAMCHE BAZAAR
Today is an important acclimatisation day in and around Namche Bazaar, especially now that we’ve crossed the 3,000-metre mark. After breakfast, we set off early for a scenic morning walk up to the Hotel Everest View. From here, we’re rewarded with traditional and truly stunning views of Mt Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Spending an hour or so at 3,800 metres greatly helps our bodies adjust to the altitude and prepares us for the higher sections of the trek ahead.
Afterwards, we visit the Namche Bazaar Monastery, where we’ll receive a blessing from the resident Buddhist Lama – a memorable and deeply cultural part of many Everest Base Camp Treks. Following this, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore the town at your own pace. Whether you choose to wander through the local markets, relax in one of the bakeries, or browse the small mountain shops, it’s the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon while continuing to acclimatise.
In the evening, we gather again for a warm meal and a chance to reflect on the journey so far. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6
deboche
Today we leave Namche Bazaar and follow a stunning trail toward Deboche via Tengboche. The path contours around the valley, with sweeping views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse, before descending through forest to the river at Phunki Tenga. From here, we climb steadily up to the famous Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual heart of the Khumbu. We’ll take time to explore the monastery and enjoy a coffee or pastry at the popular Tengboche bakery, all while surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks.
After soaking up the atmosphere, we descend through quiet rhododendron forest to the peaceful village of Deboche, where we stay overnight at the lovely Rivendell Lodge.

Day 7
Dingboche
Today we continue our journey from Deboche to Dingboche, gradually gaining altitude as the landscape becomes more open and rugged. The trail winds through peaceful forest before crossing the Imja Khola via a narrow suspension bridge, followed by a steady climb to the village of lower Pangboche, one of the highest permanent settlements in the region and home to one of the oldest monasteries in the Khumbu.
As we continue upwards, the trees begin to thin and the terrain becomes more stark. The views of Ama Dablam dominate the skyline, growing more dramatic with every step. After a few hours of steady trekking, we arrive in the broad, windswept valley of Dingboche – a busy village nestled beneath towering peaks on both sides. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8
Around Dingboche
Today is another important acclimatisation day, giving our bodies time to adjust to the altitude before we continue our ascent. We begin with a lazy start and a hearty Sherpa breakfast at Bright Star Lodge, enjoying the relaxed pace and soaking in the surrounding mountain views.
By mid-morning, we’ll set off on a gentle acclimatisation walk up the valley toward Chukhung and Island Peak, following a scenic trail that offers breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and the soaring ridgelines of the Imja Valley. This walk allows for a gradual altitude gain, which is essential for a safe and successful trek to Everest Base Camp. We’ll take it slow, pausing for photos and enjoying the vast, open landscape that now surrounds us.
In the afternoon, we return to Dingboche for another night at 4410m, where rest and hydration are key. There’s time to relax, read, or chat with fellow trekkers before dinner. This second night at altitude plays a vital role in preparing us for the higher terrain ahead. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 9
LOBUCHE
Trekking from Dingboche to Lobuche is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking and emotionally charged stretches on the journey to Everest Base Camp. As we continue onward and leave Dingboche behind, the trail gradually ascends through rugged terrain, revealing ever-expanding views of the surrounding peaks. Along the way, one of the key highlights is passing through the Thukla Pass, where stone memorials stand to honour climbers who lost their lives on Everest. For many, this is a sobering and deeply moving experience, because it reminds every trekker of the mountain’s immense power and the courage it demands.
As we continue upward, the altitude becomes more noticeable and the air grows thinner. Each step begins to feel heavier; however, the sense of purpose also intensifies. The anticipation builds with every turn of the trail, as we draw closer to the mighty Khumbu Glacier and the goal that has inspired so many – Everest Base Camp. For those taking part in Everest Base Camp Treks, this section often becomes a time for reflection and quiet determination.
Finally, we reach Lobuche, nestled among the high peaks of the Khumbu region. It’s the perfect place to rest, recover, and prepare for the incredible days ahead. Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 10
Everest Base Camp
From Lobuche, we follow the edge of the Khumbu Glacier on our way to Gorak Shep, surrounded by towering peaks and the raw beauty of the world’s highest mountains. As we move higher, the landscape becomes more dramatic, and every step brings us closer to our long-awaited goal. After arriving, we pause to refuel with an early lunch before setting off for the final push to Everest Base Camp.
The trail to Base Camp is both challenging and inspiring. Walking at a relaxed and steady pace, the journey takes around three hours. Along the way, there are countless opportunities to soak in the views, take photos, and fully appreciate the immense scale of the Himalaya. This section is often considered one of the most rewarding moments on all Everest Base Camp Treks – the point where effort and anticipation finally meet achievement. Eventually, standing at Everest Base Camp itself, in the shadow of the infamous Khumbu Icefall, you’ll feel a powerful mix of awe, pride, and accomplishment.
After the celebration and a few well-earned high-fives, we begin our return to Gorak Shep. The descent feels lighter, filled with a deep sense of achievement and quiet reflection. Finally, we settle in for a hearty dinner and our last night sleeping at significant altitude – a fitting finale to one of the most unforgettable Everest Base Camp Treks imaginable.

Setting off at around 4:30 am allows us to reach the summit just in time to witness a magnificent sunrise over Mt Everest and Nuptse. As the first light hits the towering peaks, the view is nothing short of breathtaking. This moment is truly one of the highlights of the entire journey and, weather permitting, it’s an experience not to be missed.
After soaking in the views, we make our way back down to Gorak Shep for a well-deserved breakfast. From there, we continue towards Lobuche, where we’ll stop for lunch and a short rest. Later in the day, the trail leads us gently down the valley to Pheriche (4370m). The gradual descent offers time to reflect on the morning’s climb and enjoy the changing mountain scenery.
Pheriche has grown into a vibrant Sherpa community, filled with friendly locals and plenty of small, interesting shops to explore. It’s a comfortable and welcoming place to rest after an incredible day in the Himalaya. Overnight in Pheriche.

Once we arrive, we spend some time exploring the famous monastery and, of course, visiting the local bakery for a well-earned treat.
After leaving Tengboche, we begin a long and enjoyable descent down to the river. From there, the trail climbs steadily once more, eventually leading us to the small village of Sanasa. Although this section can be challenging, the views and the changing landscape make every step worthwhile.
From Sanasa, we continue on to Khumjung. However, depending on how the group is feeling, we may decide to travel a little further to Namche Bazaar. Both Namche Bazaar and Khumjung are excellent places to unwind after a long day on the trail. Moreover, they provide the perfect setting to relax, reflect, and begin appreciating just how far we’ve come on our journey so far. Overnight at Khumjung or Namche Bazaar.
