Mera Peak Nepal — A True Himalayan Adventure

If you’ve ever dreamt of climbing in the Himalaya – standing high above the clouds, surrounded by the world’s greatest peaks – Mera Peak Nepal is the perfect place to begin. At 6,476 metres, Mera is one of Nepal’s most achievable trekking peaks, yet it offers one of the most spectacular rewards on Earth: a sweeping panorama of five of the world’s six highest mountains – Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu – all visible in a single breathtaking view.

This is not just a climb. It’s a full Himalayan experience that combines remote trekking, authentic cultural encounters, and a genuine sense of personal achievement. And for more than 20 years, Trek Climb Ski Nepal has been leading adventurers safely and successfully to the summit.

Two Decades of Experience, One Hundred Percent Success

Few companies in the world can match our long-standing experience with Mera Peak in Nepal. We’ve been guiding this expedition for over two decades and are proud to have maintained a 100% safety and success record the entire time. We also ski Mera Peak when the conditions are right!

That record isn’t luck – it’s the result of meticulous planning, exceptional logistics, and the expertise of our Sherpa team. Every trip is led by highly experienced Everest summiteers who know exactly how to prepare climbers for altitude, weather, and the physical demands of the climb. Our approach gives every guest – from seasoned trekkers to complete beginners – the best possible chance to succeed and thoroughly enjoy the journey.

We take safety seriously. From the moment you arrive in Kathmandu, every detail is handled with professionalism and care. That includes comprehensive gear checks, acclimatisation schedules designed by experienced mountaineers, and constant monitoring of health and wellbeing throughout the expedition. It’s no surprise that so many of our guests describe their Mera Peak experience as truly life-changing.

The Perfect First Himalayan Climb

For trekkers who’ve already completed an adventure like Everest Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit, Mera Peak Nepal offers the perfect next step. It’s a chance to move beyond trekking and experience true mountaineering, without needing to be an expert climber.

No previous mountaineering experience is necessary for this expedition. Our team will teach you everything you need to know. How to use crampons and an ice axe, walk on a glacier, and move safely while roped up. The emphasis is always on learning, safety, and confidence.

This approach makes Mera Peak ideal for anyone who wants to take add a Himalayan giant to their adventure CV. It’s a serious challenge, but one that’s achievable with the right guidance, preparation, and team around you.

The Journey to Mera Peak

Your adventure begins in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, before a breathtaking mountain flight to Lukla – the gateway to the Everest region. From here, your Mera Peak Nepal expedition heads into the remote and unspoiled Hinku Valley, far removed from the busy trekking routes.

For days, you’ll trek through rhododendron forests, cross high passes, and camp beneath towering Himalayan peaks. You’ll stay in small mountain lodges, share tea with Sherpa families, and experience the simple rhythm of life in the high Himalaya. This journey alone is worth the trip, but it’s just the beginning.

Starting out on the snow and ice on the way to Mera Peak Base Camp

After reaching Khare, the final village before the mountain, you’ll spend time acclimatising and learning basic climbing techniques under the guidance of your experienced Sherpa team. From here, you’ll move up to Base Camp at 5,400 metres and the following day establish High Camp at 5,800 metres. As you rest and prepare for summit day, you’ll begin to feel the anticipation build.

Then, in the early hours of the morning, with the stars still overhead, you’ll begin your climb to the summit. The route follows a gradual snow slope, and as the eastern sky begins to lighten, you’ll see the first silhouettes of Everest and Makalu in the distance. Step by step, the summit draws closer – until, finally, you stand at 6,476 metres, surrounded by the most magnificent mountain panorama imaginable.

Watch the Mera Peak documentary we had professionally edited from an expedition we led way back in 2013. In it, you’ll see and hear first hand accounts of the 13 Australians that joined this trip. We hope you enjoy it.

The Greatest View in the Himalaya

From the summit of Mera Peak in Nepal, the view defies description. To the north stands Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. Next to it are Lhotse and Makalu. To the east, Kanchenjunga, the third highest. To the west is Cho Oyu. All of these over 8,000 metres high. In the one view!

Nowhere else in Nepal, and arguably nowhere else on Earth, can you see so many of the planet’s highest mountains from a single vantage point. It’s a moment of pure awe, and one that few people ever experience. Most climbers spend around 30 minutes on the summit, taking in the incredible view and reflecting on the journey that brought them there.

Then it’s time for the descent, safely returning to Khare to celebrate your achievement with your team, a warm meal, and a well-earned rest. Many of our guests say that moment, sitting around the table with your Sherpa guides and new friends, sharing stories of the climb, is truly special. It’s often just as memorable as reaching the summit itself.
