Three stunning journeys captured on film
Some guests become part of your story, and Bruce and Alexis are exactly that. Over the years they have joined us for three remarkable Himalayan trekking adventures – Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes, Mera Peak, and Island Peak. On the Mera Peak and Island Peak expeditions, they were joined by their young son, Hunter, whose strength, determination, and natural love for the mountains impressed everyone. Their family brought warmth, spirit, and genuine positivity to every trip, and it has been a privilege for our guides and support crew to share these journeys with them.
What makes their story even more special is how beautifully they have documented each expedition. Bruce and Alexis have created cinematic, documentary-style films that go far beyond typical trip highlights. Their videos capture the true essence of Himalayan trekking – the rhythm of the trails, the Sherpa culture, the highs and lows of altitude, and the deep bonds that form between people who venture into Nepal’s mountains together. We are incredibly grateful to them for allowing us to share their work with our community.
The first instalment of this three-part series, showcases their unforgettable 2019 Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes journey. It is a breathtaking visual account of everything that makes Himalayan trekking so iconic: the turquoise waters of Gokyo Lakes, the legendary Cho La Pass, the colourful bustle of Namche Bazaar, the raw beauty of the Khumbu Glacier, and the emotional moment of arriving at Everest Base Camp.
Part 1: Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes – A Himalayan Classic
This first film follows Bruce and Alexis through the full Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lakes Trek: ascending through the Dudh Kosi valley to Namche, climbing towards Gokyo and its shimmering high-altitude lakes, then crossing the Cho La Pass on their way to Everest Base Camp. The cinematography is superb and it catches the true essence of Himalayan trekking. You’ll feel like you’re also on the trail!
