13 Days / 12 Nights Kathmandu to Kathmandu
Mt Kailash Trek (Tibet)
Overview
Mt Kailash Trek (Tibet)
Embark on a Mt Kailash trek and experience one of the world’s most sacred journeys.
This spiritual adventure takes you deep into Tibet’s mystical landscapes, combining ancient pilgrimage traditions with awe-inspiring Himalayan scenery.
Your Mt Kailash trek begins in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, where you’ll immerse yourself in the city’s deep spiritual and cultural roots. Visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple set the tone for the sacred journey ahead, while your Tibetan permits and gear are finalised.
From Kathmandu, your Mt Kailash trek leads you north through dramatic Himalayan landscapes toward the Tibetan border. After crossing into Tibet at Rasuwagadhi, you’ll continue the scenic drive to Kyirong, gradually acclimatising as you travel across vast plateaus and through traditional Tibetan towns en route to the sacred Lake Manasarovar.
Revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, Lake Manasarovar offers a tranquil space for meditation, ritual bathing, and spiritual reflection. From here, you’ll continue to Darchen, the starting point of your once-in-a-lifetime Kora around Mt Kailash.
The Kora is a sacred pilgrimage – a three-day clockwise circuit around the mountain believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual merit. On this part of your Mt Kailash trek, you’ll cross high-altitude passes, including the formidable Dolma La (5,630m), and pass sacred sites like Gauri Kund and the Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk monasteries. Along the way, you’ll take in unforgettable views of Mt Kailash’s north face and the vast, mystical Tibetan landscape.
After completing your spiritual circuit, you’ll retrace your route through Saga and Kyirong before returning to Kathmandu – your Mt Kailash trek ending with memories of a profound physical and spiritual achievement.
Join us for a Mt Kailash trek that blends challenging adventure, breathtaking beauty, and deep spiritual meaning—an experience you’ll carry for a lifetime.

Next is the serene Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. Surrounded by prayer flags and spinning wheels, it’s a peaceful contrast to the bustle of the city.
We finish at Durbar Square, the historic heart of Kathmandu, home to centuries-old temples, courtyards and royal palaces.
