In this, our latest Mera Peak Nepal video, we bring you what in our humble opinion is possibly the best sunset you will ever see. A big statement yes but take a look and see if you agree. And if you think this is something you’d like to see with your own eyes then it could be time to get in touch with us. Learn more about our Mera Peak expedition itinerary.

In the above Mera Peak Nepal video you’ll see the sun going down on Mt Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. Everyone knows Everest is the highest mountain in the world – Lhotse is the 4th highest and Makalu is the 5th highest. The uninterrupted panorama of these three mountain giants – all lined up next to each other – as the iridescent colours of this Himalayan sunset reflect from their summits is truly stunning. And while you’re watching our Mera Peak Nepal video don’t forget that this footage was taken from High Camp at around 5800m.  So the views actually get better the next day when you’re standing on the summit!

Want to climb Mera Peak

Our Mera Peak expeditions are a 23-day trip and are the perfect “first-time” mountaineering expedition for beginners. In fact, all things considered, we think Mera Peak is probably the BEST introductory high-altitude climbing expedition you can do. You’ll get to spend 3 full days travelling on the snow/glacier wearing crampons and learning to travel on a rope (en route to the summit of Mera Peak). This also involves 2 nights camping on the glacier in tents learning the routines that are all part of high altitude mountaineering. As you can see in our video above, the views don’t get any better. If you’re a fit person that has a visit to Nepal on your radar, this is the perfect trip to consider. We’ll never try to talk anyone out of trekking to Everest Base Camp, but there are heaps of reasons we consider this to be a better trip.

We have heaps of video we’ve taken over the years on our Mera Peak expeditions. Go to the playlist containing our Mera Peak videos. Lots of videos from summit and plenty that show the approach. We even produced a documentary in 2013 that has amassed more views than any other video on our channel. Mera Peak is one of our favourite trips for too many reasons to list here. We love this climb for its remoteness, the challenge, the views and the people who look after us in the lodges along the way.
