April 9, 2017

With the 2017 Himalayan climbing season in full swing, we’re excited to have our April 2017 Everest Base Camp and Island Peak trip underway. Watch past Trek Climb Ski Nepal Island Peak trip videos to see what’s in store for our team.

This trip begins with 2 nights in Kathmandu and our team are spending these with Trek Climb Ski Nepal Co-founder Tika Tamang and his family in their home on the outskirts of Kathmandu. There is no better way to experience genuine Nepalese hospitality than this. In addition, it’s the perfect way to stay healthy in the lead up to our expedition as the food (along with preparation and hygiene) is top notch. Not to mention Mina Tamang’s chili chicken and dal baht are to die for.

Island Peak Trip Itinerary

Our team will fly from Kathmandu tomorrow to the Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla. From here they will trek to Everest Base Camp following the classic route. To accomplish this safely will take 8 – 9 days – we never take shortcuts when it comes to our acclimatisation schedule. A bullet-proof acclimatisation to high altitude is critically important to the success and safety of trekking and climbing at altitude. After trekking to Everest Base Camp, our team will trek back down valley then head to Island Peak Base Camp via Chukhung. Here they’ll make final preparations for their 2-day climb of Island Peak. Island Peak is a perfect introduction to mountaineering in Nepal are requires no previous climbing experience. But you do need to be very fit and determined to be successful on any 6000m+ peak.

A special feature of all Trek Climb Ski Nepal trips – including this Island Peak trip – is our Follow Us Live technology. Friends and family can follow the progress of this trip (in real time) on our website via our Follow Us Live page. Check in regularly and follow the progress of our team all the way from Lukla to Everest Base Camp to the summit of Island Peak.
